Reaching for the Stars in 2016
The University Housing Georgia Residence Hall Organization (GRHO) Conference Team is ready to Reach for the Stars in 2016, the theme of the GRHO 2016 Conference. Nine motivated student leaders completed and presented a bid to a state conference delegation. They were awarded the bid in March 2015 to host this year’s conference which will take place on February 5-6, 2016.
These nine student leaders from University Housing comprise the GRHO Conference Team which includes:
- Carissa Crabtree – Conference Chair
- Maya Earl-Bledsoe – Registration Chair
- Hannah Webb – Programming and Philanthropy Chair
- Stephen Drummond – Finance Chair
- Iman Combs – Housing Chair
- Clarissia Bourdeau – Dining Chair
- Idongesit Nsentip – Entertainment Chair
- Mary Chestnut – Spirit Chair
- Asia Tooke – Safety and Transportation Chair
Since winning the bid, the conference team has been diligently working to organize the statewide conference. The conference mission is to provide a learning experience that supports the growth and development of student leaders from across the state of Georgia. The conference delegates, called cadets, will attend sessions that will empower them to GRHO Up, GRHO Together and GRHO Out. Conference programming will focus on the leadership journey, diversity and building community.
Cadets will connect during boardroom meetings to discuss leadership issues and legislation for the student led organization. While visiting the Georgia State University campus, cadets will experience student life, including meals at Piedmont North Dining Hall and an evening of entertainment at the Student Recreation Center.
University Housing and the GRHO Conference Team look forward to empowering student leaders from across the state to Reach for the Stars! Please contact Carissa Crabtree, Conference Chair, for more information about the conference via email.
